The Jefferson Highway Association has been
re-established!
On Saturday, March 19th, 2011 a group of people from towns and cities
along the entire length of the Palm to Pine Highway met in Lee's Summit,
Missouri with the intent to form a new Jefferson Highway Association.
Meeting people for the first time, as most of us were, was an exhilarating
experience! Although we had communicated by email and already knew each
other it was sure nice to be able to put a face and a person to the name.

We pondered the reason that we should have an association and adopted a
statement of purpose to guide our future efforts. Bob and Joyce Ausberger, who
were instrumental in founding the Lincoln Highway Association were on hand to
offer us guidance based on their very similar experiences.
Bylaws that had already been researched and developed by Melissa Phillips of
Butler, MO were discussed, amended slightly and adopted. These bylaws form the
cornerstone of the Jefferson Highway Association.
An executive was elected by the people present and seeds of committees were
planted.
